How wheels are made

From powder to finished wheel, in-house

Pressing, sintering and infiltration happen under one roof; finish machining runs on our own 15-lathe cell. Nothing is subcontracted.

  1. 01

    Powder & mixing

Tungsten powder blended with copper binder in 3-D mixers, weighed per batch record.

  2. 02

    Pressing & sintering

Cold isostatic pressing to near-net shape, then high-temperature sintering in vacuum furnaces.

  3. 03

    Copper infiltration

Molten copper infiltrates the tungsten skeleton — the heart of the W/Cu composite.

  4. 04

    Machining & QC

Turned, milled and ground to 0.02 mm runout; composition, density and hardness verified per batch.

Quality control

Every batch, on the record

  • Chemical composition analysis
  • Density measurement
  • Hardness testing
  • Electrical conductivity
  • Tensile strength
  • Metallographic examination

Tests run per batch and per customer specification; inspection records accompany every shipment. ASTM B702-compliant third-party testing is available on request (~2 weeks, quoted with your order).

Batch traceability: each wheel carries a batch code that maps back to powder lot, furnace run and inspection record.
